We are currently seeking motivated and talented graduating students to join our Halifax team as Restoration Project Associates. This role offers the opportunity to grow and develop alongside experienced professionals while contributing to meaningful projects.

Position Overview:

As a Restoration Project Associate, you will support and collaborate with Project Managers and Principals on a variety of restoration projects. You will engage in all aspects of project management, from investigation and design to construction review and administration, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to the success of our projects.

General Responsibilities:

  • Marketing: Represent Sense Engineering professionally, building positive relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Knowledge Development: Enhance your understanding of standards, building codes, and industry practices while sharing insights and lessons learned with the team.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Service Delivery: Provide accurate, organized, and timely information to support the team and maintain schedules.
  • Proposals: Assist in developing scopes of work and fee proposals based on client needs.
  • Investigations/Evaluations: Plan and perform site investigations, which may involve accessing attics, crawl spaces, or rooftops, and prepare detailed evaluation reports.
  • Design: Draft scopes of work, specifications, and design drawings for restoration projects.
  • Tendering: Coordinate bid processes, prepare addenda, and evaluate contractor submissions.
  • Construction Review: Conduct site visits to monitor construction quality and progress, document findings, and provide direction as needed.
  • Contract Administration: Assist with contract preparation, invoice reviews, and certification of completion.
  • Project Management: Attend site meetings, provide updates to clients, and monitor project budgets and schedules.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering, Building Science, Architectural Science or Applied Science; or Advanced Diploma in Architectural Technology or Civil Engineering Technology
  • A graduating student with a degree in civil engineering, architectural engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in building restoration and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
